We provide high-quality instruction in English, Math, Test Preparation, and Greek Language, tailored to children and adults across various proficiency levels. Whether supporting a student with foundational skills, preparing for academic exams, or preserving cultural heritage through language, our programs are designed to meet each individual where they are—supporting them throughout every step of their learning journey.

As an educator with over 25 years of experience in both public and private education, I founded NYC Academics out of a deep commitment to helping students unlock their potential. I’ve seen firsthand how personalized instruction, cultural understanding, and compassionate guidance can transform a learner’s confidence and performance. Our goal is to create meaningful learning experiences that support each student on their unique academic journey.

Georgia Papadopoulou
Founder & CEO, NYC Academics
Sydney MacDonald is a 2024 graduate of Pace University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, graduating a year early magna cum laude and earning recognition on the First Honors Dean’s List.
Sydney has experience tutoring students across multiple grade levels. She tutored high school students in a variety of subjects at Melbourne Central Catholic High School in Melbourne, Florida, as part of the Green and Gold Committee. Her tutoring experience also includes working with middle school students through New York Junior Tennis & Learning in Elmhurst, New York.
Sydney is passionate about helping students build confidence and strengthen their mathematical skills. She provides support across a range of math levels, from Pre-Algebra through Calculus BC, as well as SAT and ACT preparation.
Outside of academics, Sydney enjoys dancing, singing, and playing the piano. She looks forward to helping students begin the new school year with confidence and a strong foundation for success.
